Young Lives Academy

Young Lives Academy aims to provide opportunities for young people and help them into further education, employment or training, enabling them to make a positive contribution to their communities and grow in confidence.

We support young people who may have issues at home, been in trouble with the law, disadvantaged areas and aims to increase confidence, motivation and skills and as a result enables young people to move into employment, education, training, volunteering or an apprenticeship. They are also empowered to become independent thinkers – building confidence, self-esteem, and a repertoire of practical skills that will last them a lifetime!

Erasmus + Youth Exchange

A Youth Exchange is a unique opportunity to learn about fellow young people living in different cultures and countries, a chance to develop new skills, to participate in a life changing experience and be involved in something different.

A Youth Exchange, is a programme of activities in another country that mobilises informal learning tools to develop skills within young people, especially Employability, Enterprise and Life Skills. These are designed to also help young people move forwards, whether this be towards employment; into education or an apprenticeships; or towards another destination.

Kent Youth Conference

Coming Soon!

The annual Kent Youth Conference is a Saturday filled with talks, CV courses, work opportunities, workshops, games and many chances to meet other young people. The aim of the weekend is to bring young people together, and to discussing the current challenges we see surrounding young people and their ability to become employable.

Youth Programme & Activities

We encourage youth involvement and development by utilising their ideas and aspirations to create, deliver and develop activities and projects.

Youth Programmes introduce young people to key contacts and organisations. This will help develop key employability skills that include networking, negotiation, communication, planning and organisation.

Arts and Crafts & Film/Photography

Our Young People are encouraged to express their creativity, and get involved in the exciting production processes that create profound cultural memories.

Our Creative Arts projects supports young people’s creative aspirations by increasing engagement in creative activities with their peer groups. They may even want to explore their creative potential but just don’t know how to go about it or just want to try something new.

The Little House Project Double Decker Bus

A new project hopefully launching in the next few months. We plan to purchase a secondhand bus and turn it in into a shelter for homeless people. We will have a kitchen with tea/coffee and a hot meal, bathroom, sleeping pods, a lounge and dining area. We will also have 2 laptops connected to WIFI to allow the homeless people start to rebuild their lives.

We want the bus to be somewhere where they can get a meal, have a sleep in a warm and dry place, and to be a rehabilitation centre so they can get their lives back on track. We plan to partner with Turning Point the local homeless charity, so if people have drink or drug problems they have to try to abstain and sign up to a rehabilitation programme, run on the bus by the charity, Turning Point in order to be allowed to stay.

The Little House Project- Homeless Shoebox Appeal

Each year we like to ensure that local homeless people in Kent have a present to open on Christmas day, as everyone should have something to open at Christmas. We go out on Christmas Eve to hand out these shoeboxes, clothing, blankets etc to keep them warm.

The following items which would be ideal to fill your Christmas shoe boxes with are: Deodorants, shampoo, socks, hats/caps, flannels, tooth brushes, tooth paste, chocolate bars/sweets, disposable razors, shaving foam, womens sanitary products, pajama’s, hair accessories, wind up torches, books/crosswords.

Joining Hands Across Borders

A new project launched in 2019, to provide aid and solidarity to refugee’s and unaccompanied minors as they flee from conflict and settle in new countries. We are asking for donations of items for us to take to Calais and Greece where will be distributing them out and will be providing hands on support.
